PoliceTents.com and Activate Canopy are now offering the latest in fabric technology… Solar Shield Fabric!
In comparison to traditional canopy fabric, SOLAR SHIELD fabric reduces surface temperatures by up to 10%. Meaning, on a hot summer day the SOLAR SHIELD FABRIC will keep surfaces under your tent much cooler by creating a much darker shadow and retaining heat in the fabric.
Solar Shield Fabric With Black Fire Retardant Coating
Today, canopy companies use a Dye Sublimation process that allows us to create compelling, full color designs on our customers canopies. The fabric we use has a fire retardant fabric that allows us to pass the CPAI-84 fire retardant standards. This fire retardant coating is WHITE and is applied to the back side of the fabric, allowing us to print the exterior of the fabric.
Now, Fire House Tents, and parent company Activate Canopy, is offering a thicker fabric with the fire coating dyed BLACK. Using a BLACK fire coating, we are able to creating a more efficient barrier to block light and heat from passing through the fabric.
As a result… surface temperatures are reduced under our Solar Shield canopies!
Traditional Fabric
On a hot day, the radiant heat can pass through most fabrics, and makes surfaces underneath rise in temperature. The Above picture shows the pavement surface temperature under a traditional tent with white fire coating.
Solar Shield (black) Coated Fabric
Here, you see that the pavement surface temperature has been reduced because the heat is blocked and retained IN THE FABRIC. Keeping you and all surfaces under the tent COOLER on a hot day!
Thicker 600D Fabric
Our Solar Shield Coating is applied to our Thicker 600D fabric. This adds additional protection by retaining more heat in the fabric.
Thicker 600D Fabric
Solar Shield fabric IS white fabric, so we are able to print logos in full color... the Black Coating does not affect our ability to produce tents in any color you design... mild or wild, the Solar Shield fabric can be printed however you like!
